Laser beam welding is a welding technique to join pieces of metal in different thickness, coated layers and metal materials through the use of laser. The technique combines two type of metal sheets lined into one complete sheet and remain a lightless status for adapting trends of lightweight production. The flexible combination makes lightweight production a new concept of lightweight optimization.

The laser welding machine is a fusion welding machine that uses a laser beam as an energy source to impact the weldment joint. The laser beam can be guided by a planar optical component such as a mirror, and then the beam is projected onto the weld by a reflective focusing element or lens.
It is a non-contact welding; the process does not need to be pressurized. In laser welding, a method called MIG welding can be combined with MIG welding to achieve deep penetration welding, and the heat input is much smaller than MIG welding.
