The focus project "Powder-Feed 3D Printing Technology" (also called "Laser Deposition Welding), researched Hoffmann institute, was informed. During laser deposition welding, metal powder melt directly into laser beam that combines different metal materials and ingredients into a single workpiece. Material gradients are also possible. This technology may further utilize to manufacture independent thin-wall 3D structure, particularly.

The management team also comprehend Empa’s cooperation with partners in the field of medical technology and how Empa application-oriented research expand its understanding of basic processes in laser welding and additive manufacturing. Empa has plenty of experiences in the field of application-oriented process research, process monitoring and prototype construction. The further cooperation between Empa and Han’s Laser is settled on agenda.
